Entrance must for PG courses:Nepal Medical Council

Nepal Medical Council issuing a notice today informed that students seeking to get admission in foreign medical colleges after January 1, 2018 for post-graduate courses must now have to pass entrance examination conducted either by the foreign colleges or colleges in Nepal.

NMC has also set guidelines for students seeking admission overseas wherein they must have to pass the entrance exam, have to complete three years clinical residency training, mandatory thesis should have to be passed and the students must have passed their exit exam from their respective institutions which should be certified by the University/Academy or Board they have passed from to get the PG Eligibility Certificate for further studies.

NMC has informed that it will not provide PG Eligibility Certificate to students who do not comply with the guidelines. Any student seeking education in a foreign country without getting the PG Eligibility Certificate from Nepal Medical Council will not be included in special examinations conducted by the council for registration of specialist doctors.

Earlier, any student who appeared in the entrance examination was provided eligibility letter to pursue post-graduate courses in foreign countries.

Every year, 500 students take entrance examination for post-graduate medical courses. Of them, 300 students enrol in foreign colleges and universities as per Nepal Medical Council.

List of awardee in the 43rd Convocation of Tribhuvan University

Tribhuvan University is organising its 43rd convocation on December 31.Tribhuvan University, Office of the Controller of Examination, Balkhu has published a list of students who will get different awards in upcoming 43rd Convocation of Tribhuvan University.

According to Tribhuvan University’s 53rd grace list, students who have passed their semester/year-ly exams of bachelor’s, master’s or MPhil or PhD and also received the transcript between June 16, 2016  and May 31, 2017 and have applied for participation can attend the convocation ceremony. The event will take place at Pulchowk Engineering Campus playground.

Toppers of different faculties will be awarded during the ceremony. “Some 80,000 students have passed the examinations, but only 8,267 have applied for participation in the convocation ceremony,” said Bhoj Kumar Basnet, deputy administrator at Tribhuvan University Controller of Examinations. Tribhuvan University, which is the oldest varsity in the country, has a total of nine faculties.

If student wants to take their Guardian (Maximum Number: 2) in the Convocation Program, then they have to pay Non-Refundable Charge of NPR 200 Rupees per each Guardian.
