    MSc Physics Colleges in Nepal, Tribhuvan University ,TU

    The M.Sc. program, designed for two year's covers both theory and practical courses. In addition to the compulsory common core courses eleven optional papers have been approved by the subject committee in the present M.Sc. syllabus. At present only 6 such papers (e.g. Solid state physics, Cosmology and gravitation Optoelectronics, Bio-medical Physics, Atmospheric physics and Plasma physics have been offered to the students. Every student has to opt either two from these six or one dissertation and one of the above courses. There is also a provision for the project work in lieu of electronics laboratory works in the second year. Till to date more than 400 M.Sc. thesis(Dissertation) have been produced m different fields of Physics. The details are tabulated below.

    1. GoldenGate International College

    2. St. Xaviers College

    3. Birendra Multiple Campus
    Address: Bharatpur, Chitwan

    Founded in 2022 B.S; Birendra Multiple campus is one of the constituent campus of Chitwan. It is located in Bharatpur, Chitwan. It is located with its beautiful and peaceful premises at Bharatpur in Chitwan. It offers programs in the Institute of Science and Technology (B.Sc, M.Sc Physics & M.Sc Chemistry), Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences [B.Sc.(Agriculture Science)],Faculty of Management (BBS and MBS) and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, (BA, and MA Sociology and Anthropology). The physical infrastructure of the campus is expanded into 19 Bighas of land with different buildings. Apart from the land and buildings, the college is also occupied by canteen, cycle stand, Science lab, Computer Lab, Geography Lab and library. The library is well managed with a large volume of text and reference books at the campus.     5. Patan Multiple Campus
    Address: Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur

    Patan Multiple Campus was established on 2011 B.S.(1954) before birth of Tribhuvan University. 'Patan Multiple College' in 1973 it is entered as constituent campus of Tribhuvan University in named Patan Multiple Campus. Patan Multiple Campus is one of the most popular constitutent campus of Tribhuvan University. It occupied about 27,296 sq m area. The campus is situated at Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur of Nepal which is also known as city of Newar community. Patan Multiple campus is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University, it offers both Bachelors and Masters program in the faculties of Humanities and social sciences, Faculty of Management and Faculty of Science.     6. Prithvi Narayan Campus
    Address: Bagar, Pokhara, Kaski

    Founded on 1 September 1960 (17 Bhadra 2017 BS) in the western region, PN Campus was initially named Prithvi Narayan Inter College that was started with 13 students and 2 teachers for post-secondary education and was run by the local community. In the beginning, the classes were conducted in Kanya School, Nadipur Patan and moved to Bhimkali Patan in Bagar where it now exists. George John was the first Principal, and Narayan Bahadur Karki and Arjun Bikram Rana were the first administrative staff of the college. On 20 August 1963 (4 Bhadra 2020 BS), the college resumed its first batch with the Bachelor of Arts (BA) study, which received its accreditation from Tribhuvan University. In the same year, under the Peace Corps Volunteering Projects, Douglas K. Wingham, Peter Farco and Dorothy Mierow started working as volunteers to teach English and other courses in the college.     7. Amrit Science Campus (ASCOL)
    Address: Lainchaur Kathmandu

    Amrit Campus, formally named as Public Science College (PUSCOL) and later named as Amrit Science College (ASCOL), after late Mr. Amrit Prasad Pradhan. Mr pradhan was born in 1918 at Thamel, Kathmandu. He served as headmaster of Jooddha High School in Birgunj for two years and later joined at Tri-Chandra College as lecturer in Chemistry. In 1962, he became founder Principal of Public Science College (present Amrit Campus) and began teaching as professor of Chamistry. Late Principal Amrit Prasad Pradhan established Amrit Campus with a view to promote the study of Science and Technology in Nepal. The campus has benefited greatly from his spirit or enterprise, dedication and enthusiasm. While on a mission to the United States of a cause connected with the college, he died in an air crash over Mt. Blanc on January 24, 1966. The death of this noble soul was mourned by the nation.     8. Central Department of Physics Tribhuvan University
    Address: Kirtipur Kathmandu

    The second half of the twentieth century has witnessed a tremendous development in the field of Physics education and research particularly in developing countries. The Central Department of Physics (CDP), Tribhuvan University has been helping to bring the world of Physics education and research to interested Nepalese students since 1969 by offering theoretical Physics course in the Master's level. In spite several difficulties and limitations, CDP has produced more than 3000 physics graduates. These graduates are actively involved for the development of nation in various sectors. At present, about 800 physics graduates are continuing their education and research in abroad (mostly USA). In this way, our graduates are contributing globally. The research activity is gradually increasing at the department. At present, 25 students are doing Ph.D. and 240 students are enrolled at the masters’ level in the department.     9. Siddhanath Science Campus
    Address: Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur

    Shree Siddhanath Science Campus, established in 2033 BS in Mahendra Nagar, is a community-based  campus affiliated to Tribhuvan University.  Hence, it is completely supported and managed by the community.  It is offering B.Sc CSIT, B.Sc and M.Sc in Physics program. Unanimity in campus development among all the stakeholders including political parties, parents, representatives of the municipality, District Development Office, etc.  Most of the officials and parents are the graduates of this campus. There is a sense of belongingness among all concerned. It is located in Bhim Datt Municipality which is an emerging town of Kanchanpur district in the far western Terai of Nepal;  it is also a border town adjoining Banbasa, India. [ View details ]
